Workshop

The workshop is considered the heart and soul of Solar do Carmo.  In a hotel where culture, history, and architecture are taken so seriously, nothing is more appropriate than an exclusive space for art.

Papers, pieces of wood, paint, glue, seeds, and spices become adornments and lamps, which become a part of the hotel’s decor.  All of the paintings, flowers, and other art objects throughout Solar do Carmo were created in the workshop.

The workshop’s goals are accomplished by evidence of its productions, and is overseen by the artist Flavia Taiano, who was recently invited to contribute to the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bahia.
